For your Ebony Skin (A Poem)
For your Ebony Skin
I salute you, oh angel of my heart!
I greet your beauty, oh daughter of Afugiri.
Your glowing skin is what skips my heart.
I salute you, oh daughter of Afugiri.
Your tender smile blow my mind,
Your wonderful glowing ebony skin who can but imitate.
Your attractive eyes, there’s none of its kind.
To end a day without your voice means to emaciate.
I cherish you oh queen of my heart
My heart beats for you like ‘ingini oka’*
Surely you’re the angel of my heart.
Your ebony skin would make every man a worker
Being busy to make you their own.
Many can even desire you even with a bank’s loan.
I salute your ebony skin oh daughter of Afugiri.
I salute your ever-glowing ebony skin, oh daughter of Afugiri.
